Commercializing the Science of Tropolones
The exploration of the biological activities of the tropolone family of chemicals is a bourgeoning field in chemistry these days.
Previously overlooked due to the surge in popularity of the five-sided antibiotic Penicillin, tropolones have recently become the subject of extensive scientific research.
This research has shown that tropolones are of great medical significance and possess powerful anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-tumor and anti-fungal properties.
The pharmacological properties associated with tropolones are in part due to their unique molecular structure - a seven-sided aromatic ring that is exceedingly scarce in nature.
This scarcity provides a new and unseen weapon in the fight against anti-biotic resistance bacteria.
In fact, the medical significance of tropolones was first recognized in pre-war studies demonstrating their inhibitory effects of tuberculosis.
More recently, several tropolones have been demonstrated to effectively inhibit virulent strains of major hospital infections such as MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) and VRE (Vancomycin-resistant enterococcus) that have already overwhelmed the traditional antibiotics of Penicillin, Methicillin & Vancomycin.
As a manufacturer of a wide array of tropolone derivatives, Xylon Biotechnologies & its strategic partners are working together to exploit these chemicals for their pharmaceutical benefit to humankind.
