Hinokitiol (β-Thujaplicin)
Synonym: 2-Hydroxy-4-(1-methylethyl)-2,4,6-cycloheptatrien-1-one

Grade: Natural

CAS Number: 499-44-5

Molecular Formula: C10H12O2

Molecular Weight: 164.2059

Boiling Point:: 303.4°C / 760 mmHg

Phytochemical Groups: Monoterpenoid

Description: Hinokitiol demonstrates a wide range of pharmacological properties that are thought to be a product of its unique, seven-membered aromatic molecular structure.    Researchers have shown that Hinokitiol is a powerful, broad-spectrum anti-bacterial and anti-fungal compound that could be used in a wide range of consumer products such as cosmetic, food & agricultural preservatives.    In addition, the compound has been researched extensively for its powerful pharmaceutical applications, including its anti-cancer and enzyme inhibiting properties.

γ-Thujaplicin
Synonym: 2-Hydroxy-5-(1-methylethyl)-2,4,6-cycloheptatrien-1-one

Grade: Natural

CAS Number: 499-44-5

Molecular Formula: C10H12O2

Molecular Weight: 164.2059

Boiling Point:: 302.8°C / 760 mmHg

Phytochemical Groups: Monoterpenoid

Description: γ-Thujaplicin has equally-potent antimicrobial activity as does its isomer, Hinokitiol, although γ-Thujaplicin demonstrates greater inhibition of in-vitro cancer cell lines than its isomer, Hinokitiol.

Thujic Acid
Synonym: 5,5-dimethyl-1,3,6-cycloheptatriene-1-carboxylic acid

Grade: Natural

CAS Number: 499-89-8

Molecular Formula: C10H12O2

Molecular Weight: 164.2059

Boiling Point:: 285.7°C / 760 mmHg

Phytochemical Groups: Monoterpenoid

Description: Thujic Acid is a tropylidene compound with powerful pest repellent properties.    The compound's insect repellent properties have been shown to surpass the activity of the standard repellents, dimethyl phthalate and fencholic acid.    One very powerful derivative has been developed that demonstrates potency stronger than that of DEET (N,N-diethyl-m-toluamide).

Methyl Thujate
Synonym: 5,5-dimethyl-1,3,6-cycloheptatriene-1-methylcarboxylate

Grade: Natural

CAS Number: 54598-10-6

Molecular Formula: C11H14O1

Molecular Weight: 178.23

Boiling Point:: 239°C / 760 mmHg

Phytochemical Groups: Monoterpenoid

Description: Methyl Thujate is responsible for the unique and powerful aroma of Canadian Cypress (Thuja plicata).    Methyl Thujate has been determined to act as a platform molecule for several hundred fragrances, of which 6 are considered "world-class."    The compound also has minor pest repellent properties as a secondary function.

Nezukone
Synonym: 4-(1-methylethyl)-2,4,6-cycloheptatriene-1-one

Grade: Natural

CAS Number: 13656-81-0

Molecular Formula: C10H12O1

Molecular Weight: 148.204

Boiling Point:: 250.6°C / 760 mmHg

Phytochemical Groups: Monoterpenoid

Description: Nezukone is a tropone compound with an isopropyl group at C4.    The compound is anticipated to have antimicrobial properties similar to Hinokitiol with little odor.

Plicatic Acid
Synonym: 1-(3,4-dihydroxy-5-methoxyphenyl)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-2,3,7-trihydroxy-3-(hydroxymethyl)-6-methoxy-(1S,2S,3R)-2-naphthalenecarboxylic acid

Grade: Natural

CAS Number: 16462-65-0

Molecular Formula: C20H22O10

Molecular Weight: 422.388

Boiling Point:: 731°C / 760 mmHg

Phytochemical Groups: Lignan

Description: Plicatic Acid is a lignan of low molecular weight that is recognized for its antioxidant and antimicrobial activities.
